All patterns are pdf files. All you have to do is to print them using your printer, put pieces onto the fabric and cut out.
You can print patterns as many times as you want, no need to trace anything.
Each pattern package includes full size pattern pieces and a description (step-by-step guide illustrated with photos). Seam allowances are included (marked with dashed lines on pattern pieces). If you prefer to add your own seam allowances, just cut out the pattern pieces without seam allowances and add your own ones (remember that you can print patterns as many times as you want).
Remember! You will NOT receive a paper pattern.
Patterns (pattern pieces, descriptions and photos) are protected by copyrights. You are not allowed to sell patterns yourself or share online for free in any form (including blogs, Pinterest, Flickr and other social media).
You are welcome to sell clothes handmade for you created using our patterns but you are asked to credit me in the item description with a link to the website www.ik-patterns.com). Thank you!
Patterns for American Girl Dolls have been designed for doll sizes shown in the table.
If your doll size is a little smaller, you can skip seam allowances (they are marked on pattern pieces with dashed lines). If your doll size is a little bigger, you can add seam allowances.

To view and print pdf files you will need Adobe Reader; this is a free program you can download from Adobe website http://www.adobe.com/downloads/. If you can’t open and view the pdf file, you probably don’t have Adobe Reader programm and you need to download it.
To print patterns, you will need a printer with a letter size (8.5” x 11”) or A4 paper. To keep correct sizes, patterns have to be printed at 100% size. So MAKE SURE before printing that your printer has turned off such options as “page scaling”, (set page scaling to: none), “fit”, “shrink oversized pages” and similar. Set margins to 0. The first pattern page includes 5” x 5” and 10 x 10 cm sample squares, so you can check if the size is proper. If the sample square doesn’t keep correct dimensions, check once more your printer settings.
You don't have to print all pages of your pdf file but only those with patterns pieces or fragments of description you are interested in. In Adobe Reader you can choose pages you want to have printed. After File=>Print just choose Pages to Print => Pages … (enter your numbers) instead of Pages to Print => All. For saving the paper and an ink consider printing only pages with patterns and following instructions directly from the screen of your computer.
You can get FREE PATTERN if you subscribe to our mailing list (using link from the top menu of each site).
Although free patterns are downloadable from the same server as other patterns, but there is some difference. Because they don't go through the checkout, you don't get automatic email with a link to download like in other patterns case but I send you that link manually. So you get an email after I get a message that you subscribed. I check emails a few times a day but of course I can't do that constantly, and sometimes you will have to wait a little, so please be patient and don't unsubscribe immediately:). Also take into account different time zones. I am in US so if you subscribe at 6 pm in Europe, you will probably get your free pattern next day after 4 pm of your time because I usually don't start before 10 am.
If you don't get free pattern after 24 hours, please contact me. But before you do that, check your spam folder!

I have paid for the pattern but didn't get an e-mail with a link to download
First check your spam folder because the e-mail is probably there.
Patterns are stored on the server that is connected to PayPal; an e-mail is sent to you automatically as soon as your payment is complete.
But what if I checked my inbox and my spam folder and there is no e-mail anywhere?
Typically it should not happen but life is life...In such a case I have always a possibility to send you an e-mail with a link to download manually. Just contact me by e-mail or using the contact form. You can be absolutely certain that you will ALWAYS get a pattern you have paid for.
Why is a seam allowance included?
I know that in Europe seam allowance typically is not included in pattern pieces. But because I make patterns mostly for US customers, I follow US rules.
Seam allowance is marked with dashed lines on patterns pieces, so you can always cut out paper pattern pieces without it or draft your own seam allowance on the paper.
I have made doll clothes using patterns from this website but but they don't look like I expected them to. Could I receive a refund?
Send me a message with a detailed description and attach photos of dolls wearing those clothes, and I will consider giving you a refund.
Taking into account a skill level, I think this pattern was too difficult to me to make clothes with. Could I receive a refund?
Send me a message with a detailed description of problems you had, and why you think the pattern was too difficult, and I will consider giving you a refund.
